First Flower Piping

Monday project includes Coconut oil, Olive oil, Rice Bran oil, Palm oil, Mango butter and Castor oil.  Fragranced with Petals of Spring.  Colors used were neon pink, woodland green, stained glass yellow and titanium dioxide.

It almost felt sad cutting into this loaf.  I did not use my wavy one inch bar cutter since I just want it to be plain on all sides except for the foliage.  Of course I realized that I can not cut straight.  I definitely have a crooked cutting hand.

I had originally planned to swirl some of the pink and yellow into the white base but the fragrance oil really set the batter up fast so I decided to just go all white.  The soap loaf and the cupcakes were oven processed as well.

I had been trying to formulate a recipe I can label as my very own which can also be use for soap cupcakes and so far this recipe held on to what I expected it.  We shall see how they are in a couple more weeks when it's fully cured.

I had to stop the video while waiting for the flower batters to get to piping consistency. Fragrance was not added to the colored batter and it took it's time thickening.

Happy Soaping!

  1. Hi,
That piping is so pretty....looks like you are really getting the hang of it. Well done.
Fingers crossed that these cupcakes are better behaved !!
I am so with you on the crooked cutting. Even with a mitre box I manage to end up with uneven bars. I claim it takes skill, but my partner just rolls his eyes in despair! Oh well...maybe next time.

    1. Thank you. I really am enjoying and every batch is something new to look forward to. By the way, if you have facebook, join this group:https://www.facebook.com/groups/coldprocess.soapmakers/. So much to learn from all the other soapers. New techniques being shared too.
Same here Jo, I also use mitre box and my bars still don't have consistent thickness. So far this recipe everything behaved. The cupcake leaves are just "off" placement wise. But I had to pipe them somewhere.

    2. Thanks for the suggestion about the facebook group.... I will wait till my daughter visits next to show me how to sign up and then join. (Can you tell I grew up before computers were commonplace?!! I need the kids to show me how these things work - they make it look so easy and their fingers fly across the keyboard!) Thanks again

  2. Great job on the piping, that is one of my favorite things to do with CP soap. The cupcakes turned out so cute too!

    1. Thank you Cee. It all started with your blog and the encouragements from you. It is great fun piping and I have another batch waiting to be cut tomorrow with piping as well. So addicted I am with this craft. So much potential in designing and formulating recipes.
