November 2017 | Holiday Berry | KCK Soapery

Scented with "Holiday Berry" described to be a blend of ripe raspberry with orange zest and warm musk.

I decided on red, green and white for holiday.

Poured the white as the base.  I used the same recipe I have been using recently which include, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Palm Oil, Mango Butter and Castor Oil.

Dropped most of the green for some green swirls.

Layered the red on top and drizzled it with some white.

Drizzled the leftover green.

Swirled the top using chopstick.

Off the mold.

Finally cut.  Each bar is different in a way.  I love how these turned out.

Thank you for stopping by!

October 2017 | White Christmas | KCK Soapery

Scented with "White Christmas". This is a fragrance oil described to be a blend of pine, fir needles, cedar bark, and eucalyptus.

Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Palm Oil, Mango Butter, and Castor Oil.

Adding lye to the oils and butter.

Blend until batter is thick enough to pour.

Poured batter into mold.  Main soap batter is not colored in any way.

Dropped swirled with white melt and pour.

Dropped swirled with soap batter colored white with titanium dioxide.

Textured the top using spoon.

Added white melt and pour snowflakes.

Out of the mold.

Cut by hand using knife since the snowflakes made the soap taller than my cutters. I tried to slice it as straight as I could but I have a crooked hand.

Enjoy!

October 2017 | Pumpkin Pie All Natural Lip Balm | KCK Soapery

These are now labelled, packaged, and sealed ready for shipment to their new temporary home where they will be packaged again to be part of a baby shower giveaways.

Ingredients includes Castor oil, Olive oil, Beeswax, Carnauba wax, Soybean oil, Candelilla oil, orange mica, and sweetened pumpkin pie flavor.

Pouring into the tiny tubes, holds 0.15 oz. each.

What a production! My challenge is always in the labelling and it took me hours to finish sticking labels and sealing off the tiny tubes. But they are worth all the work!

I hope the host of the party and recipients of the giveaways will love them.

Thank you for stopping by!

October 2017 | Autumn Spiced | KCK Soapery

The vision for this was pumpkin pie with autumn leaves.

Leaves were made from melt and pour soap. Colors used for the cold process were activated charcoal for black and red, and brown mica mix for the pumpkin.

Mixing lye with the Coconut oil, Olive oil, Rice Bran oil, Palm oil, Mango butter, Shea butter, and Castor oil.  Scented with Spiced pumpkin fragrance oil.

Poured the pumpkin batter as my main soap color.

I had hoped to have the black go into the soap deeper but it started hardening faster than I thought.

So I swirled in the color using a spoon.

Gave the loaf some texture using spoon as well.

Added the leaves on top.

Tried to space the leaves equally.

Out of the mold.

Finally cut.

Thanks for dropping by!

October 2017 | Spiced Pumpkin | KCK Soapery

Although the weather is still undecided, we are officially in the Autumn season. This batch is scented with "Spiced Pumpkin", described as fall spices blended with amber.

My daughter said "it smells sooooo yummy".

Coconut oil, Olive oil, Rice Bran oil, Palm oil, Mango butter, and Castor oil.

Colors used were titanium dioxide for the white and I mixed brown, red and yellow for the pumpkin color.  The fragrance oil contains vanillin so the soap will eventually morph to more brown in color.  The white batter was not scented so it will stay white.

Divided the soap batter into two, white for piping and red brown for the main soap.

Poured a layer of pumpkin.

Sifted a layer of Hershey's cocoa powder.

Covered the cocoa powder with another layer of pumpkin then sifted a layer of activated charcoal.

Black activated charcoal layer.

Covered the black with another layer of pumpkin.

Piped middle line of white.

Second line of piped white.

Third line.

Piped the rest of the white batter.

Out of the mold.  Showing the activated charcoal and cocoa powder line.

I love how the piped white soap batter behaved and stayed where they should be.

Hope you enjoy these spiced pumpkin soap.
