December 2014 | Lavender/Peppermint | KCK Soapery

My new and improved Lavender/Peppermint artisan soap. Peppermint essential oil was added a little bit more than the previous batch for that minty feel and aroma that a friend enjoyed so much and wanted more of.

Diluted soap colorants Titanium Dioxide for white, woodland green and purple.

Ingredients include Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Shea Butter, Castor Oil and Mango Butter.  The Shea Butter is a new favorite ingredient.  It added to the silky feel of the soap and added more skin loving benefits as well.

I drop swirled the three colors, top with a thin layer of white and drizzled the rest of the batter on top.

Did the chopstick swirl using two layers of  "O"s .

Got this wacky thought of doing something a little different by adding a spoon swirl texture on one side of the soap.  How do you guys think of that?  Maybe for just this once or can I do it again.

Unmolded the batch four days later just because everybody is home for the holidays and everything including the soaps just have to wait a bit longer.  I like the look and feel of freshly unmolded soap with Shea Butter better than my previous batches.

Most likely the extra 3 days of settling in the mold made the soap less tacky.  The soap loaf came off smooth and did not have any big cracks on the ends like my previous ones.

Loving the look of these.

Happy Soaping!!!
