May 2015 | Yellow/Black Graduation Favor Soaps | KCK Soapery

This batch was ordered by a friend for her daughter's graduation party favor.  These are full sized cupcakes.

Melt and pour diplomas made a few days ahead.

Ingredients used were  Olive Oil, Palm Oil, Coconut Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Castor Oil and Mango Butter.  Colors used were titanium dioxide for white, activated charcoal for black and yellow micas.

Cupcakes done.

Attached the diplomas.

I made four batches to complete the number of cupcakes ordered.

These were the colors I was aiming for the whole project.

But like all handmade soaps, even if you used the same recipe and tried to fill the piping bag the same way,  they just don't come out of the bag the same way.  Here you see some of the cupcakes having more black, others have more yellow and some turned gray and light yellow.

Congratulations to my college friend,  a colleague on our very first job after we got our licenses.  She now have a graduate and I hope she and her friends will like these soaps.

November 2014 | Cold Process Giveaways | KCK Soapery

Cold processed soap giveaways.  We will need 3-6 weeks for the soaps to cure.  Allowing soaps to cure for a few weeks before using makes them milder and harder.  Here is the post for the making of these hearts.

Hope recipients of these giveaways enjoy the soaps.  Thank you very much.

July 2014 | S's Cupcakes | KCK Soapery

Last week's creation.  The cupcakes were made for a friend who ordered these as a giveaway for her big "0" get together with friends.  So honored to be given this opportunity to share some delightful, no calorie yummy goodness.  I surely hope her friends and the celebrant herself will truly enjoy and want more of these full size cupcakes.

Ingredients were olive oil, palm oil, coconut oil, rice bran oil, cocoa butter, mango butter, and castor oil.  Colored with titanium dioxide for the white, neon pink and cappuccino mica.  Fragranced used for the brown cupcake base is "Butt Naked" described to have a tantalizing base note medley of granny smith apples and honeydew melon, middle notes of strawberries and pears, with hints of spice.  The white base was fragranced with "Honeysuckle" , fresh ozonic honeysuckle blend with hints of jasmine, rose, and lilac.  The frosting was "Baby Clean" which is a unique and calming fragrance oil, has top notes of granny smith apple, lemon zest, and hints of mint, rounded out with blossoms of spring wildflowers, butterfly violets & honeysuckle.

The top were then sprinkled with iridescent glitter sparkles and then off to the oven they went.   Thank you very much "S" for the opportunity to share with you and your friends my creations.

Hope you all enjoy and love using them as much as I love making them.

Wherever we are, it is our friends that make our world.

First Cupcake Soaps

Since I was already making soap favors yesterday.  I thought of trying my hands at making mini soap cupcakes as well.  My daughter is turning 6 soon, so these would be perfect as birthday giveaways for her classmates.

These are made using my usual 2 pound recipe using Olive oil, Coconut oil, Palm oil and Castor oil.  I used Baby Clean fragrance oil from Nature's Garden.  I am quite happy with Nature's Garden, their shipping process was fast and prices are good too.  Will know the quality of their products soon after these soaps cure.  The colors were supposed to be pink and white but I can't seem to get the pink I like so I added Americana Red and is happy with the result I got.  The swirl is called "in-the-pot swirl" technique.  I can't insulate them by wrapping them in towel.  So I used Cold Process Oven Process for this and they went in to the oven at 170 degress for one hour.

I had to pick the kids up from school around the time my hubby gets home, so I had to put a note that say "Don't Eat = Soaps".  Just to make sure he does not try to touch or eat them.  The above picture shows the color of the soaps spot on.

Picture above is to show the glitters I added and the white and red swirls.  But it turned out a little brighter than I want.

I was able to make 24 mini soap cupcakes which weigh about 1 to 2 oz each and 4 regular size cupcakes about 3 to 4 oz each.

Below I have 3 parts video of the process.  I had to pause the video to make it shorter but I still need to learn how to put the videos into one episode.  Sorry about the leg of the stand showing and the screen a little off where the action is. Will try to make sure I get better angle of the soaping action next time.
