March 2015 | Amazing Grace | KCK Soapery

Scented with "Amazing Grace" type fragrance oil. Described as a feminine fragrance oil by Natures Garden that will make you feel pretty...oh so pretty!  Italian bergamot and sparkling lemon are sweetened with freshly picked citron and neroli.  A white floral jasmine, orange blossom and rose are blended with sheer musk and cedarwood.

Colors used were liquid pink, titanium dioxide for white and activated charcoal for black.  Usual recipe of  Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Castor Oil, Shea Butter and Mango Butter.

The design plan was tilted zebra.  So I slanted the mold using a sandwich container and cut out  a cardboard box for the zebra stripes.

Poured the pink soap batter but as you see in the above picture, the batter thickened and I ended up spooning it into the mold.

Since I was so focused on making the tilted zebra design, I was not able to think of any other alternative design even when the batter got thicker and thicker with every spoonfuls of the batter that I plopped into the mold.  The black and white were supposed to be stripes but it was not meant to be.

Topped the rest of the soap batter on top of each other.

Stripes no more, just globs.  Almost giving a camouflage look instead.

Even with a lot of pounding to avoid bubbles, the batter was so thick by the time I finished spooning that some bubbles were inevitable.

These tiny holes are the bubble spaces.

This was not the plan for the batch but I think it turned out fine.

Thank you for stopping by!

December 2014 | Amazing Grace | KCK Soapery

Tuesday started out great, so I decided to try a new design technique using five colors for the first time.  However, it did not happen.  The soap batter hardened faster than expected and the video ran out of battery.  I ended up having an "Abstract" design.

First time using a lot of colors, Titanium Dioxide for white, woodland green, ultramarine blue, red oxide and activated charcoal for black.

The hubby can't stop sniffing at the soap, he said it has a "subtle - cool - menthol - like scent".  This was scented with "Amazing Grace" fragrance oil which is described as a blend of Italian bergamot and sparkling lemon sweetened with freshly picked citron and neroli.  A white floral jasmine, orange blossom and rose are blended with sheer musk and cedarwood.

The batch was made using Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Castor Oil, Shea Butter and Mango Butter.

I hope you enjoy these design.

Happy Soaping!!!
