September 2017 | Chai Tea | KCK Soapery

Scented with Chai Tea - a fragrance described as fabulous aroma of just the right amount of gourmet tea leaves, rich spices, and vanilla soy milk. An NG Original Scent!

The fragrance oil contains vanillin which will cause the soap to discolor to shade of brown.
So I decided to add a darker brown swirl and white. As the soap cures, all the colors above will turn darker.

Olive oil and rice bran oil in white mixing bowl and melted mango butter, palm oil, and coconut oil in the glass container. I used brewed tea water instead of the regular distilled water for this batch just to continue with the theme of the chai tea fragrance oil.

This is how it looked like after I poured the lye solution into the oils and butter.

Nice caramel color after mixing.

Poured all of the caramel colored batter as my base.

Alternately poured the white and brown batter at different height so some colors will go deeper into the loaf and some stays drizzled on top.

With the help of a chopstick I did the figure 8 on the top layer from one end all the way to the other side of the mold.

We shall see how the color deepens as they cure.

Thank you for stopping by!
