Happy 2018 to everyone!
Starting my 2018 soaping adventure with some enchanting creatures. I made these mermaids tail, unicorn heads, and seashells from melt and pour soap.
I started the seashells as brown but my son said they don't look realistic. So I randomly painted white soap over them and he is quite happy with the result. Some of the mermaid's tails are painted on strategic areas to give that special magic touch.
Only using white and blue for this batch. Recipe is the usual, coconut oil, olive oil, rice bran oil, palm oil, mango butter and castor oil and scented with Abalone and Sea fragrance oil.
Tilted the mold and poured blue on one side.
Added white to the remaining blue to give it a different tone of blue and poured that on the other side and topped with white.
Alternately adding blue and remaining white by the spoonfuls.
Swirled them around to create a body of water.
Saw this technique on a baking show. Placing the two different colored batter side by side on a plastic wrap.
Rolled it up and seal one end and squeeze it into the piping bag.
I like the look of this piping. The color distribution is more uniform.
Added the tails and the shells on one side.
Added more shells on the sides of each bar after cutting using a clear melt and pour soap to glue them to the sides.
Thank you for reading!
Hoping for an enchanting year ahead for all of us!
