January 2015 | Fall In Love | KCK Soapery

Another Valentine soap made with Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Castor Oil, Mango Butter and Shea Butter.  I did not use Palm Oil for this batch.

The heart embeds were from my previous post "Love Collection."

I decided to drop swirl both red and blue colors into a base but changed my mind at the last minute.   I quickly made an improvised divider using some newsletter paper and taped the paper in the middle of the mold.

I was quite happy with how the paper divider separated the colors.

Embedded the hearts which moved the red batter a little bit.

Sprinkled blue jojoba beads to red batter and red jojoba beads to the blue batter.

Poured the leftover red and blue batter into my oval mold and swirled it with a chopstick.

Topped the oval soap with red jojoba beads and a golden melt and pour baby.

Gave this to a friend who is having a baby soon.

Waited four days before removing from the mold and it came out nicely, no cracks or any part of the soap sticking on the sides of the mold which sometimes happened.

Some of the bars got a nice silhouette of the embedded hearts while others are more abstract.

Hope you enjoy the making of Fall In Love.

Thank you very much for stopping by!

January 2015 | Melt and Pour Fun Week | KCK Soapery

I received some new molds in the mail earlier this week and can't help myself but play with them right away.  Fortunately, a friend saw my post and ordered for more.

These lego guys will be going to their new homes as Valentine's party giveaways.

This ballerina is going to my daughter's friend who is having a birthday tomorrow.

Fun lego pieces for the young ones.

This golden baby is a topper for a handmade soap and has found a new home with a friend who is having a baby soon.

I thought these teeth soaps will be a great gag gift, dentist gift or whatever fancies you.

Ever want to make bath, shower time or washing hands more exciting, fun and special?  I can embed a jewelry or two in between layers of melt and pour soap for your little ones or special someone.  The above soap has a pink snowflake pendant embedded in layers of soap.

January 2015 | Crisp Pear Herb Garden | KCK Soapery

Last week was a sad week for my mother's family and I was not as motivated as I should.  But with the arrival of my goodies from Bramble Berry I was able to envision a soap design.

Colors I was thinking of were green, yellow and white using the fragrance oil Sunny Herb Garden and Crisp Anjou Pear.  I tried to achieve a bright yellow using the yellow silt clay but was hesitant to add too much.

Fragrance used was a combination of Crisp Anjou Pear and Sunny Herb Garden.  Crisp Anjou Pear fragrance is described as sweet and fresh at the same time. While the Sunny Herb Garden is described as fresh picked herbs.  It combines the fresh aromas of rosemary, thyme, sage, and basil with a soft lavender undertone.

I planned to have a white base, drop swirled with green and yellow for herbs and pear.  Unfortunately, I forgot to add my butters to the oils and had to add warm butters to the batter which was already at trace.  This was also my first time to use silt clay which absorbs water.  I guess the combination of both warm butters and the clay contributed to the batter thickening fast and the colored batters were not able penetrate the white base.

Skin yummy oils added to this batch were Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Mango Butter, Shea Butter, Palm Oil and Castor Oil.

I may add a little bit more clay next time I use it again.

A few days after pouring, ready for cutting.

Happy Soaping!

January 2015 | Love Collection | KCK Soapery

These soaps were made with some new love molds I recently purchased.  The Kudos Moon Face above will be perfect for wedding giveaways as well as Valentine soap.

This batch was made with Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Palm Oil, Mango Butter and Castor Oil.

I love using silicone molds.  They are decorative and soaps usually come off with the design intact and clean.

Decided to just use the red mica and white titanium dioxide for colors.

With so many molds to fill, I did the in-the-pot swirl.

Gave the pot a once over with the spatula to distribute the colors more.

Poured the batter into the molds.

The batch was scented with "Falling In Love" fragrance oil described as a charming blend of Blackberry, Jasmine, Lemon, Vanilla and Musk.

The above soaps are tiny bite size hearts.  I like the carved designs.
