August 2017 | Minions | KCK Soapery

These were made for a "Minions" themed party.

Trying to get the right shade of blue, by adding teal and blue.  Yellow was the combination of yellow and gold.

Used my favorite skin-loving oils for this cupcake recipe which include the following olive oil, palm oil, coconut oil, rice bran oil, castor oil and cocoa butter, and mango butter.

Divided the soap batter as above. I just wanted to add a little white to add more contrast to the blue and yellow.  This batch is scented with lavender and mint fragrance oil.

The base of the cupcake.

Tried to pipe the yellow without covering the blue.

While school shopping, we found a book of minion stickers. Just perfect timing.

Hopefully people receiving these little party favors are going to love them.

July 2017 | Satsuma | KCK Soapery

This is scented with Satsuma fragrance oil.  It is described as energizing and intoxicating and everybody who used it loves it.

Unfortunately, this batch will have to go to my "failed soap" category.

It has been two weeks and it is too soft to cut.

I needed the mold for another project and pushed the soap loaf out. It did came out but the batter on the sides on all four corners were stuck.

This is definitely going to be a personal use batch.

I will keep you guys updated for how it looked once they are cut.

Thank you for stopping by!

June 2017 | Fifty Shades of Grey | KCK Soapery

My supplier described this fragrance oil as "seductive marriage of tainted rose and wild geranium with addictive, "can't live without it" notes of bergamot and gold amber."
Reviewers mentioned it as appealing to both men and women.

I decided to make another camouflage design since the hubby is running low on his soap supply.

Oils of Coconut, Olive, Rice Bran, Palm, Castor and Mango butter.

Soap batter with the following colors white, brown, green and black for a manly camouflage look.

Drop the different colors by teaspoonfuls.

Until all the soap batter was used up.

Off the mold.

Another view of the soap loaf.

May 2017 | Gardener's Soap | KCK Soapery

I mentioned to a friend at work that I will make a Gardener's soap for her since she is starting her garden and herb farm again.

As I search for the perfect gardener's soap recipe, I noticed two recipes that caught my fancy.  I used the recipe from soap-making-resource  since I have all the ingredients on hand and try to make the soap look like the one from Brambleberry's soap queen's super gardener's soap.  I also combine additives like rose clay, lavender buds, activated charcoal and titanium dioxide from both sources.

Oils used were coconut oil, palm kernel oil, olive oil, avocado oil and castor oil.  This soap is chuck full of essential oils of Lavender, Rosemary and Tea Tree essential oils.

This is the largest amount of oils, essential oils and additives I have ever used.

I decided to add the lavender buds to the white soap batter and poured it first to be the base of the soap.

In went the rose clay layer.

Last layer was the soap batter mixed with coffee grounds.

Topped with white I set aside and lined with some leftover rose clay soap batter.  As you can see, some of the batter start hardening as I was spooning the batter.

Managed to swirl it before the top completely harden.

Off the mold.

This is the biggest soap bar I have ever made.

May 2017 | Abalone and Sea | KCK Soapery

The design was inspired by the name of the fragrance oil used.  Two shades of  blue and white swirled and textured to look like the sea.

Oils used were the usual, coconut, olive, rice bran, palm, castor and mango butter.

The darker blue have more blue powder.  White is done using titanium dioxide.

Then I alternately poured the different colors in the pot.

Once all the colors were in the pot.  I then poured the soap batter into the mold.

Topped with the darker blue on one side with the white in the middle and the lighter blue on the other side.

Swirled the top using chopsticks.  I could just have stop here, but my vision was for a sea.

So I textured the top with a teaspoon to give the look of waves.

Off the mold.

Hope you like the final look.

Thanks for stopping by!

May 2017 | Agave | KCK Soapery

This was made for a friend who ordered for candles in "Agave" scent.  Of course I have to make a soap version of it as well. She did not give me a deadline and I have been procrastinating a little bit. I made this a couple weeks ago, just was not able to post yet. Months of April and May just came and almost gone so fast.

Saponified oils of Coconut, Olive, Rice Bran, Palm and Castor added with Mango butter.

Green, yellow and white colors.

White used as the base and green and yellow alternately poured in the middle.

Gave the yellow a little swirl.

Topped with white then poured leftover yellow and green in the middle.

Off the mold.

Thank you for stopping by.
