March 2020 | Shave Camo | KCK Soapery

The hubby is missing my camo designed soap so I made this batch for him.  I used the same usual recipe.

Shave and a hair cut fragrance oil is described as a mix of lemon, bergamot, cool mint, lavender, green accord, sandalwood, cedar wood, amber, and musk.  It smells just like walking in to a barbershop!

Enjoy!

January 2020 | Gingered Bergamot | KCK Soapery

This batch is made for a sweet baby girl who just turned one!
Thank you "L"

It is made with melt and pour or also called glycerin soap.  Perfect for when you don't have 4 to 6 weeks of curing time for the cold process soap making. I hope everybody who's going to receive these giveaways will love them.

These are the number 1's just out of the mold.

Made a batch with pink base and white number and vice versa.

Out of the mold.

Scented with gingered bergamot described as an exotic fragrance with citrus top notes of bergamot surrounded with nuances of freshly ground ginger combined with notes of sandalwood, cedar, Indian patchouli, and sweet basil.

Thank you for visiting my soapmaking blog!

January 2020 | 50 Shades Valentine's Soap | KCK Soapery

Happy New Year 2020!!!

This is my first batch of soap for the new year.  It's made for Valentine's Day and I used a new heart shaped embed I found online.  As you can see in the picture above, the design was good but the texture of the soap was disappointing.  It's what I get for playing with recipes and fragrance oils or maybe I was a little too excited for my first batch that I may have poured the batter too early or removed it from the mold a little early.

Hopefully, I get to post most of this year's soap projects more than last year and that I make a better soap next time.

Ingredients used were olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, rice bran oil, shea butter, castor oil, mango butter and lye.
Colors were titanium dioxide for white and red mica.
Fragrance oil used is called 50 Shades it is described as: a seductive marriage of tained rose and wild geranium with addictive "can't live without it" notes of bergamot and gold amber.

Thank you for stopping by!

March 2018 | Green Camo | KCK Soapery

Green camouflage scented with an aftershave type fragrance oil with top notes of lemon, bergamot and cool mint, with a heart of lavender, green accord, and sandalwood. A strong base of cedar wood, amber and musk.

Ingredients are my usual Coconut oil, Olive oil, Rice Bran oil, Palm oil, Mango butter, and Castor oil.  Colors are titanium dioxide for white, activated charcoal for black and green and brown mica.

My 9 year old alternately dropped in the different colors by teaspoonfuls into the mold.

Finally done.

Out of the mold.

Cut and ready for you all to enjoy.

Thank you!

September 2017 | Gingered Bergamot | KCK Soapery

Attempted another butterfly swirl.

This batch needed a little more imagination to visually see the butterflies.

By placing the ends of the soap side by side, you get to see some sort of butterfly silhouette.

As pictured above, my butterfly was a no show at first. After watching other soapers' pictures I noticed that most of them took pictures after placing the bottoms of the soap together.

Scented with "Gingered Bergamot" described to be citrusy notes of bergamot and freshly ground ginger, sandalwood, cedar, Indian patchouli, and sweet basil.

Oils used were Coconut oil, Olive oil, Rice Bran oil, Palm oil and Castor oil.  Butters were Mango butter, and Shea butter.
This batch was swirled by a tool I made from drain pipes with a straw as seen in the picture above on top of the white mold.

Colors used were white (titanium dioxide), yellow and green mica.

Poured most of the white.

Made a green line.

Yellow above the green.

Green batter on top of the yellow.

With the straw on a drain cleaner tool, I tried to make a butterfly swirl. As seen in the finished picture above, I ended up pushing the colors down instead of swirling them.

Above picture was taken after the swirling.

Covered the swirl with another layer of white and drizzled leftover yellow and green on top. The batter was hardening so I was in a hurry, I forgot to take picture of the drizzled yellow and green.

Swirled the top in a figure of 8 pattern.

Off the mold.

And it's cut!

Happy Soaping!

September 2017 | Chocolate Lovers | KCK Soapery

Fragranced with Chocolate Lovers, a scent described as a mixture of lemon, orange, bergamot and mandarin, lily of the valley and coriander with notes of sweet chocolate, warm vanilla, and musk.

Inspired by the name of the fragrance oil, I decided to tweak with my recipe and incorporate cocoa butter.  This recipe includes Olive Oil, Palm Oil, Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, and Cocoa Butter.

Since this fragrance oil will discolor the soap to some shade of brown I decided to use that discoloration as the main color of the soap and made swirls of white using titanium dioxide and a combination of red and brown mica for the second color.

Dropped both white and the red brown colors into the main batter.

Used a chopstick to make a diagonal design on the top.

Off the mold.

June 2017 | Fifty Shades of Grey | KCK Soapery

My supplier described this fragrance oil as "seductive marriage of tainted rose and wild geranium with addictive, "can't live without it" notes of bergamot and gold amber."
Reviewers mentioned it as appealing to both men and women.

I decided to make another camouflage design since the hubby is running low on his soap supply.

Oils of Coconut, Olive, Rice Bran, Palm, Castor and Mango butter.

Soap batter with the following colors white, brown, green and black for a manly camouflage look.

Drop the different colors by teaspoonfuls.

Until all the soap batter was used up.

Off the mold.

Another view of the soap loaf.
