March 2020 | Shave Camo | KCK Soapery

The hubby is missing my camo designed soap so I made this batch for him.  I used the same usual recipe.

Shave and a hair cut fragrance oil is described as a mix of lemon, bergamot, cool mint, lavender, green accord, sandalwood, cedar wood, amber, and musk.  It smells just like walking in to a barbershop!

Enjoy!

February 2020 | Aromatherapy Energizing | KCK Soapery

I made this batch of handmade soaps a few weeks ago using a mold I bought for myself for Christmas and Valentine's!

I always love the look of the soaps made with the dividers.  The different colors are more evenly distributed and not intermingling over each other.

This batch is made using my usual recipe olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, shea butter, mango butter and castor oil. Colors used were purple, teal and pink mica and titanium dioxide for white.

Fragrance used is called Aromatherapy Energizing which is described as an uplifting blend of fragrance and essential oil blend of fresh and airy notes of lemon, garden peppermint, spearmint, wintergreen and floral notes of gardenia, jasmine, and rose.

I also bought a cutter for this batch.

As of the writing of this blog, my cutter and mold are both unavailable.  I will keep an eye for when it will be available and add the link in the next post.

Wet soap after swirling.
I always love the look of wet soap.

The two different cut made by the new mold and the new cutter.

Here is the video of the making and cutting of this mold.

March 2018 | Green Camo | KCK Soapery

Green camouflage scented with an aftershave type fragrance oil with top notes of lemon, bergamot and cool mint, with a heart of lavender, green accord, and sandalwood. A strong base of cedar wood, amber and musk.

Ingredients are my usual Coconut oil, Olive oil, Rice Bran oil, Palm oil, Mango butter, and Castor oil.  Colors are titanium dioxide for white, activated charcoal for black and green and brown mica.

My 9 year old alternately dropped in the different colors by teaspoonfuls into the mold.

Finally done.

Poured the main color which is white.

Made a red line in the middle.

Alternating white and red only in the middle.

Covered the top with white and drizzled some red randomly.

Drew lines on every dollop of red.

Added small hearts on one side of the soap loaf.

September 2017 | Chocolate Lovers | KCK Soapery

Fragranced with Chocolate Lovers, a scent described as a mixture of lemon, orange, bergamot and mandarin, lily of the valley and coriander with notes of sweet chocolate, warm vanilla, and musk.

Inspired by the name of the fragrance oil, I decided to tweak with my recipe and incorporate cocoa butter.  This recipe includes Olive Oil, Palm Oil, Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, and Cocoa Butter.

Since this fragrance oil will discolor the soap to some shade of brown I decided to use that discoloration as the main color of the soap and made swirls of white using titanium dioxide and a combination of red and brown mica for the second color.

Dropped both white and the red brown colors into the main batter.

Used a chopstick to make a diagonal design on the top.

Off the mold.
