March 2020 | Kentish Rain | KCK Soapery

My vision for this batch was a rain drop in the middle but the soap batter got hard fast and did not behave the way I needed it to give me the look I wanted.  It still has a unique look which I like very much though.
Fragrance oil used is described as a fresh and earthy mix of basil, green leaf, ozone, lily, rose,
jasmine, violet, sandalwood, and tonka bean.

Same usual recipe olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, shea butter, castor oil, and mango butter.
Activated charcoal for black, titanium dioxide for white, and blue mica.

My camera ran out of memory in the middle of my designing. You still get to see most of the pouring though.

Thank you for stopping by!

February 2020 | Aromatherapy Energizing | KCK Soapery

I made this batch of handmade soaps a few weeks ago using a mold I bought for myself for Christmas and Valentine's!

I always love the look of the soaps made with the dividers.  The different colors are more evenly distributed and not intermingling over each other.

This batch is made using my usual recipe olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, shea butter, mango butter and castor oil. Colors used were purple, teal and pink mica and titanium dioxide for white.

Fragrance used is called Aromatherapy Energizing which is described as an uplifting blend of fragrance and essential oil blend of fresh and airy notes of lemon, garden peppermint, spearmint, wintergreen and floral notes of gardenia, jasmine, and rose.

I also bought a cutter for this batch.

As of the writing of this blog, my cutter and mold are both unavailable.  I will keep an eye for when it will be available and add the link in the next post.

Wet soap after swirling.
I always love the look of wet soap.

The two different cut made by the new mold and the new cutter.

Here is the video of the making and cutting of this mold.

September 2017 | Kentish Rain | KCK Soapery

This batch was scented with Kentish Rain fragrance oil from Brambleberry.  They described the fragrance as rainy, salty mist green notes made up of basil, green leaf and ozone notes with added notes of muguet lily, rose and jasmine bring out the touch of violet in the blend for sweetness. Our perfumer added bottom notes of Sandalwood and tonka to round out the earthy, coast like feel.

White using titanium dioxide and black using activated charcoal and a blue mica.

My favorite recipe of coconut oil, olive oil, rice bran oil, palm oil, mango butter, and castor oil.

Divided the batter into the small colored cups and two containers for the white.

Poured white for the base.

Blue line in the middle.

Alternately poured black, blue and white on the same middle line.

This was how it looked after I poured most of the colors.  The batter thickened faster than I was expecting.

As usual, I love covering my colors and hide the design.  Just to have something more to look forward to when cutting the loaf.

Sprinkled the leftover colors.

Made random chopstick swirl on the top.

Off the mold the next day.

Since the batter thickened faster than I anticipated, I did not get the effect I was going for.  But this turned out good as well.

Thank you for dropping by.
