Chai Tea Clay

This batch made yesterday was designed for the guys.  Fragranced with Chai Tea Cybilla from BrambleBerry and some Chai Tea fragrance oil from  Nature's Garden added to get to the maximum allowed fragrance oil.  The combination made the soap thick so fast,  I must have measured more than required.  Both Chai Tea fragrance oil will discolor the soap to some shades of brown.  That is why I decided to just do yellow clay for the base.  If it turns brown, it should still be visually good.  We shall see.

Ingredients used were: Coconut oil, Olive oil, Rice Bran oil, Palm oil, Mango Butter and Castor oil.  Colors used were titanium dioxide, cobalt blue ultramarine and yellow Brazilian Clay for the base ( a natural colorant) but I guess it also contributed to the batter thickening fast.

The plan was just to swirl a blue and white chopstick swirl on top.  But as you can see, the base was so thick that it did not swirl smoothly.

Picture above taken before removing the freezer paper liner.

Definitely have to watch out for any of the expected discoloration to the base.

  1. That's really pretty ...or should I say handsome!! and you're right it'll still look gorgeous even if it continues to darken. I like the top just the way it is.....

  2. It looks great the way it is, but it would also look really cool if the bottom ends up discoloring too! You can't go wrong either way!
