This batch was originally envisioned to look like Christmas Tree cupcakes with little snowmen, stars, elves and gifts as toppers. But like most handmade things, sometimes they don't turn out as we imagined.
The supposed toppers were as big as the trees and since I don't have any other available toppers on hand, they end up leaning on the side of the trees.
These toppers were made with melt and pour soaps.
Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Palm Oil, Mango Butter and Castor Oil mix for the Christmas Tree cupcake cold process soap.
Made the base red and the tree part green.
After piping a few trees I realized these were not the look that I wanted so I changed the piping tip and removed all the above greens. The top piping tip was #33 what I needed was a #22.
The soap batter hardened fast but I was able to piped the green batter with the right tip before it completely solidified on me. As you can see in the above picture I made quite a mess when I removed the wrong green and quickly changed the tip. Almost thought the batch was going to be a complete failure.
I fortunately finished what I had envisioned.
Sprinkled some sugar pearls. Most of the pearls end up not sticking into the trees. The soap hardened too fast, they were not tacky enough for the pearls to stay put.
Hope you guys still like the look.
Hey! You're back!! Hurray........
ReplyDeleteGreat save with the piping, if you hadn't said nobody would have realised you had had to change the tip and still managed to get it piped before it set. Pleased you are able to be back soaping again.....Jo
Hello Jo,
DeleteSo glad to hear from you. Yes I am back. Just went back to hospital job and had to do a lot of reviewing and getting back into the groove. But I will be making soap regularly now too. Thank you for stopping by.
