January 2017 | Tarragon and Bergamot Soap | KCK Soapery

Made with Coconut oil, Olive oil, Rice Bran oil, Palm oil, Mango Butter and Castor oil.

Scented with Bergamot and Tarragon fragrance oil.

I planned to do another flower batch hence the piping bag.

The saponification took too long to thicken to the right piping consistency.

Changed my plan from piping to pouring. Had a layer of white and alternately poured pink and green in two rows.

Covered the pink and green with a top layer of white then I drizzle some pink and green batter.

Swirled the colors around randomly.

Poured the leftover pink and green in a lego mold.  Come visit this blog again to see what I plan for these little guys

Still have some more green and pink batter, so I poured them in a small oval mold and swirled each pink with green and vice versa.

This batch took two days to get hard enough to be removed from the mold.

The ends were still tacky and did not come out of the mold.

Some batter in the ends stayed behind.  I tried fixing the loaf and it still have gaps but I was able to get 5 bars that were not damage and 4 with cracks.

Thank you for visiting and come back to see what I will do with the lego guys!

November 2016 | Pink Rosette Bars 2016 | KCK Soapery

This batch is scented with Bergamot and Tarragon.
It contains Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Palm Oil, Mango Butter and Castor Oil.

Colors used were white, middle layer of neon pink and white on top.

Tried to get the top layer as flat as possible using spatula.

Neon pink soap batter into a ziplock bag.

Piping little rosettes.

The original plan was only one rosette a bar with some leaves but I end up having too much pink soap batter.

Made some green soap batter for leaves.

Hope you enjoyed these post.  Please come back again for more.

February 2015 | Helix Swirl | KCK Soapery

Helix swirl made using a skewer.

The helix is not as apparent as I wanted but I like how it looked.  I used titanium dioxide for the white, activated charcoal for black and a deep purple.  This batch was fragrance with Bergamot and Tarragon.

Ingredients include Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Castor Oil, Shea Butter and Mango Butter.

Happy Soaping!

February 2015 | Cold Process Fun Figures | KCK Soapery

These fun figures were inspired by a facebook inquiry I received.  A mom mentioned that her kid is very sensitive to commercial soaps and would like to know if I can make fun soaps for kids.  These were fragranced with Bergamot and Tarragon fragrance oil.  I can add color to make them more fun.

Ingredients include Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Castor Oil, Shea Butter and Mango Butter.

I made a few cold process soaps in different simple molds but not with intricate designs.  These did came out intact.  The only difference I noticed were the back of the figures.  They were not as smooth as the glycerin melt and pour soaps.

These are the backs and you can see the last pours are a little elevated and not as flat.  Maybe I can pour the batter earlier when they are still more liquid and not as thick for the next batch.  We shall see.

Thank you for your interests.  If you want me to try something, please don't hesitate to let me know.  I love the challenge and it would give me such pleasure to try new things and give you fun, skin loving soaps.

Thanks for stopping by!

November 2014 | Solid Body Lotion | KCK Soapery

Body lotion bars contain shea butter, colloidal oatmeal, sweet almond oil and beeswax.   The yellow was scented with bergamot and tarragon, the green with energizing fragrance oil and the red with mistletoe and ivy fragrance oil.

Below included on the far left of the picture are 3 lotion bars which were not colored and contain hemp seed oil instead of sweet almond oil and tea tree essential oil instead of fragrance oil.

Hoping for these lotion bars to give some relief to our skin now that winter is here.
