October 2023 | Unicorn Poop Body Butter | KCK Soapery

A coworker friend loves my "Unicorn Poop Fragranced Body Butter". Thank you so much "J".

It took me a while to start making this as I have to wait for the fragrance oil to be delivered.  The purple and pink swirled body butter comprise the unicorn poop.  The plain white is for my daughter and is unscented.  This batch includes Argan oil, Avocado oil, Shea butter, Mango butter, and Cocoa butter.

Unicorn poop is described as a rainbow of delicious treats such as sugared strawberry, sweet peach, ripe raspberry and cotton candy!

Above picture is Shea butter.

Shea butter is ivory in color. It is widely used in cosmetics and is known to benefit dry skin.  Since it is getting colder, our skin is starting to get dryer.  A body butter with Shea butter is just perfect.

Added in some Mango butter in the picture above.

Mango butter have excellent moisturizing property. It softens and plumps the skin which also reduces the presence of wrinkles. Consequently, it is gentle enough to be used as a lip balm or face moisturizer.

Mixed in the Cocoa butter wafers.

Cocoa butter are known to reduce skin dryness and improve elasticity. It also slows skin aging. Moreover, it improves blood flow to the skin which tends to smooth scars and wrinkles fast.

When the butters are melted, I added the Avocado oil and Argan oil so they don't get subjected to the microwave.

Avocado oil adds moisturizing attributes and wonderful glide to the final product.
Argan oil is rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids.

Added some Arrowroot powder so the final body butter will not be too greasy.

I let the batch harden naturally.  Some tutorials would place the batch in the fridge to harden it faster.

Added some more Argan oil just because I have a whole bottle of it and I am making this batch for a friend who likes Argan oil.

Mix until fluffy.

Separate the batch into three.  Colored one with pink mica and the other with lavender mica.  I always envision unicorn poop to be fairytale-like.

Then into the piping bag it went.

I hope everybody enjoys this product as much as I enjoy making them!

Thank you!

Glynith

January 2022 | Lemon Whipped Body Butter | KCK Soapery

Here is the first for 2022 and hopefully will continue!
Thank you so much "M" for the order.

It has been a while since I made any body products. Covid cancelled the craft shows I usually joined which are mostly hosted by friends locally.

This batch is made of shea butter, avocado oil, mango butter, coconut oil, and olive oil. Skin-loving additives used were arrowroot powder and goat's milk.  Scented with lemon essential oil.  Then, I added some yellow mica for color.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

May 2018 | Body Butters | KCK Soapery

I modified my body butter ingredients a little since it is getting warmer and my first body butter recipe melted when I left a container in the car one warm April day.

Although I highly recommend not leaving the body butters in warm space, this new recipe contains beeswax which is known to be very beneficial to the skin and will keep the body butters a little firmer.

I love the process of making up a recipe, adding and weighing the ingredients, and trying to make the final products look and feel pretty.  That is why most of my products have more ingredients than what is necessary. They are all natural, not synthetic, and will give additional benefits to the skin.

The body butters below contains Shea butter, Mango butter, Avocado butter, Coconut oil, Avocado oil, and beeswax.

Cocoa body butter has an added cocoa butter.
Unicorn poop is added with Unicorn poop fragrance oil.
Lavender is added with Lavender essential oil.

March 2018 | Lavender Whipped Body Butter | KCK Soapery

This whipped body butter is made with Coconut oil,  Avocado butter, Mango butter, avocado oil, and scented with Lavender essential oil.  A dash of lavender mica is added to give it some color.  I made quite a few batches of these! I just don't have good enough pictures to post.

Melted all the butters and coconut oil and let them harden a little bit.

Added Vitamin E for extra moisturizing.

Mixed until you get a peak.

Alternate lavender and white on a sheet of cling wrap and then piped the body butter into containers.

I love the texture and feel of these recipe.

Thank you for stopping by!

January 2015 | Hidden Ivy | KCK Soapery

First cold process soap for 2015 unmolded today.  This batch was concocted using my new favorite ingredients Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Castor Oil, Shea Butter and Mango Butter.

The design technique was inspired from Anne Marie of Bramble Berry.  Since I can't find a thicker hanger that I can easily manipulate.  I used the wire from a flower arrangement and stick a straw to make the circumference bigger.

I used woodland green, teal, brown mica and titanium dioxide for my colors.

Added more butters than my previous recipe, just to see if I can detect any difference in how the soap will behave, look and feel.

Fragranced with Mistletoe and Ivy which is described as blends of cedar leaf, Siberian fir, English holly, holiday mistletoe, cooling camphor, trailing ivy, sandalwood, vetiver, and frosted musk.

Poured the white base then the brown.

Covered the brown with another layer of white, followed by the teal which was covered and top with the green and covered again with white.

Pulled the straw wire up.

Layered the top with the leftover colors.

Swirled the top using chopstick.

Let the loaf sit for five days.  This was the longest I tried since the previous ones had been tacky when unmolded.  This came out intact but still soft enough to cut.

The delicate swirls in the middle are almost too thin in some of the bars.  The kids thought they look like little trees.

Happy Soaping!!!

September 2014 | Whipped Avocado Body Butter | KCK Soapery

I have been trying to make body butters and finally got the courage to try it today.  This was inspired by a friend who wanted me to make an avocado base handmade soap.  I decided to also make her avocado base body butter.

Ingredients include both avocado butter and mango butter.

After blending the butters until they are nice and fluffy, I added Meadowfoam oil and Avocado oil.

Then I added green tea extract and Avobath fragrance oil.

Finished blending and transferred the butters into the containers.   Which one of the three is your favorite container?

The butter is a little greasy to start with but eventually get absorbed into the skin and gives that silky feeling after.  I certainly hope the friend will like this recipe.  We shall know tomorrow when I deliver one to her.  So far everybody in our house love it.

Crossing my fingers.   Tweaking the recipe to come up with a better product is a challenge I will always welcome though.

Thank you very much for dropping by!
