November 2018 | Coconut and Palm Free Luxurious Soap | KCK Soapery

A friend contacted me and suggested that she wants to help in the marketing of my handmade soap.  As my readers,  you guys know that I like formulating recipes as much as designing the soap.  So I came up with another line of soap that I haven't made, but I know has demand.

Here is my version of palm and coconut free handmade soap.

Molds used, lye solution, sugar solution, milk and the melted oils.

This recipe included mostly Olive oil, some Shea butter, Castor oil, and Mango butter. Since most of my products contain Mango butter, I like the properties it contributed to the final product. This batch also contains goat milk to make it more luxurious.  Since Coconut oil is omitted and it is the oil that produces most of the lather in most handmade soap,  I added some sugar to give this soap recipe some lather as well.

The picture above show a few lighter-colored bars. These were added with Titanium Dioxide to give it a whiter look.  Titanium Dioxide is used in most white products including toothpaste and other personal and food products that are white. The soap batter started to thicken for me too that is why they are not as smooth on top. The darker soaps don't have the titanium dioxide and the batter was still thin when I poured them into the mold thus it is smooth.

I have four soaps above that are unscented and the rest is scented with a fragrance oil I will call "Belle"  after the name of my friend.  If she end up liking this batch.  Belle will be her signature line and we will be developing lotions, etc with that fragrance.

Excited to get these babies out of the mold.

Here is to hoping the friend will like everything the final product will be and a start to another line of KCK handmade products.

Thank you for visiting!

August 2018 | Fenugreek Soap | KCK Soapery

These handmade soaps were made exclusively for a friend Jacque.  She was told about "Fenugreek" and its benefits and she decided to come to me to make her vision into a reality.

These were made using ingredients provided by Jacque which include the following Coconut oil, Palm oil, Olive oil, Castor oil and Sweet Almond oil, and Fenugreek herb.  The batch is unscented since we wanted to see how it smells naturally for now.

This was my first time to hear about the herb! I then did my own research and found that it is very good for the skin and hair as well as other health benefits. Here is an article from webmd. The only drawback is that it is not recommended for pregnant women since it may induce contraction. However, it is good for breastfeeding mothers who want to increase milk production.

Some countries use it as medicinal herb to help with ailments, others use it for cooking, drink it as tea, and so many others.

If you would like to try these soap, just contact Jacque.  She have all the soap with her.
Thank you!

March 2018 | Abalone and Sea Real Estate | KCK Soapery

Custom-made soap for a friend who is also a real estate agent here in Midland, Michigan.
She loves the Abalone and Sea fragrance and this is what I came up for her.  I hope she and her clients will like them.  She likes to incorporate the seashells into the soap and I decided to add a small Michigan state design onto the soap as well.

I used my favorite recipe which includes coconut oil, olive oil, rice bran oil, palm oil, mango butter and castor oil.  Fragrance is described as a fresh ocean scent with notes of day lilies, sea spray, watery florals and musk.

Michigan state and the seashells were made using a melt and pour soap base.

Poured white soap batter as base and poured a green and a blue line in the middle.

Covered the lines with white and repeat.

Drizzled the leftover green and blue on top on the white.

Made a swirl using chopstick.

Added the toppings made.

Out of the mold and cut.

Can't wait to show you the second batch I made for my real estate friend!

February 2018 | Sugar and Mint | KCK Soapery

Fragrance is described as sugar crystals infused with fresh dried peppermint and spearmint leaves.

I made this goat's milk soap with my new favorite recipe which includes coconut oil, olive oil, rice bran oil, palm oil, mango butter, shea butter, and castor oil.

I used only green color for this batch.  Then, poured the uncolored batter into the mold and dropped the green in three lines.

Ran a hanger through the lines and covered the top with the rest of the uncolored batter.
Then drizzled the leftover green.

Made a swirl on top using chopstick.

Sprinkled the top with sugar pearls and glitter.

Out of the mold.

Love the end result of this batch.

Enjoy!

February 2018 | Sun and Sand | KCK Soapery

My mom who was visiting really loved this scent! My supplier described it as a tropical beach breeze of sweet orange blossom, bright citrus, french lavender and powdery musk.

This batch contains my new Goat's milk recipe which includes: Coconut oil, olive oil, rice bran oil, palm oil, shea butter, mango butter and castor oil.

Added coffee grounds to give that sandy look and a little exfoliation to the uncolored batter.

Dropped the yellow and blue batters to the base.

Gave it a little swirl with a spatula.

Carefully poured the swirled yellow and blue batter on top of the sandy layer and drizzled the leftover yellow and blue batters.

Swirled the top with my ever handy dandy chopstick.

Out of the mold.

Ready to be enjoyed!

February 2018 | Mother's Love | KCK Soapery

Scented with a blend of peonies, hyacinth, day lilies, apple blossoms, and soft bergamot.  I love the swirl on this batch but the camera did not do justice to it.

Ingredients are my usual Coconut oil, Olive oil, Rice Bran oil, Palm oil, Mango butter, and Castor oil.

Colored with titanium dioxide for white and red mica. I alternately poured red and white in the middle of the mold and did a bit of hanger swirl.

Covered with white after the hanger swirl and drizzled the leftover red batter on top.

Swirled the top with chopstick.

Out of the mold.

I am quite happy with the hanger and chopstick swirl in this batch.

Enjoy!

October 2017 | Pumpkin Pie All Natural Lip Balm | KCK Soapery

These are now labelled, packaged, and sealed ready for shipment to their new temporary home where they will be packaged again to be part of a baby shower giveaways.

Ingredients includes Castor oil, Olive oil, Beeswax, Carnauba wax, Soybean oil, Candelilla oil, orange mica, and sweetened pumpkin pie flavor.

Pouring into the tiny tubes, holds 0.15 oz. each.

What a production! My challenge is always in the labelling and it took me hours to finish sticking labels and sealing off the tiny tubes. But they are worth all the work!
