February 2020 | Aromatherapy Energizing | KCK Soapery

I made this batch of handmade soaps a few weeks ago using a mold I bought for myself for Christmas and Valentine's!

I always love the look of the soaps made with the dividers.  The different colors are more evenly distributed and not intermingling over each other.

This batch is made using my usual recipe olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, shea butter, mango butter and castor oil. Colors used were purple, teal and pink mica and titanium dioxide for white.

Fragrance used is called Aromatherapy Energizing which is described as an uplifting blend of fragrance and essential oil blend of fresh and airy notes of lemon, garden peppermint, spearmint, wintergreen and floral notes of gardenia, jasmine, and rose.

I also bought a cutter for this batch.

As of the writing of this blog, my cutter and mold are both unavailable.  I will keep an eye for when it will be available and add the link in the next post.

Wet soap after swirling.
I always love the look of wet soap.

The two different cut made by the new mold and the new cutter.

Here is the video of the making and cutting of this mold.

February 2020 | Bridal Shower Giveaways | KCK Soapery

Thank you "I" for thinking of me for your bridal shower giveaways.

We decided to give it a rustic yet feminine look and came up with a flowery kraft paper "I" already have on hand and finished the wrapping by using a lace to tie it all up.

These were made using melt and pour technique sprinkled with dried flowers and scented with Gingered Bergamot described as an exotic fragrance with citrus top notes of bergamot surrounded with nuances of freshly ground ginger combined with notes of Sandalwood, Cedar, Indian Patchouli, and Sweet Basil.

I hope everyone who receives them will love them!

February 2020 | Glassine Bag Packaging - What do you think? | KCK Soapery

I saw the use of glassine paper bags as soap packaging and I am intrigued.

The idea of using something that is biodegradable and prevent my soap from getting too many hands and nose touching and sniffing the soaps during craft shows sounds like a great idea.
We shall see how my soaps and customers will like this transition.

What do you think?

January 2020 | Valentine's Giveaways | KCK Soapery

Thank you "S" for deciding to make my soap as your Valentine's giveaways this year.  As I was searching for an inspiration for this Valentine's giveaways, I came into an article that described this technique as "hybrid" soap.  It is absolutely nice to know that we now have a name to this kind of soap making style.  It is made using both the melt and pour (glycerin) soap and the cold process soap.

This batch is scented with Gingered Bergamot described as an exotic fragrance with citrus top notes of bergamot surrounded with nuances of freshly ground ginger combined with notes of sandalwood, cedar, Indian patchouli, and sweet basil.  The cold process base is made using my favorite recipe which includes Olive oil, Coconut oil, Palm oil, Shea butter, Castor oil, and Mango oil.

January 2020 | Gingered Bergamot | KCK Soapery

This batch is made for a sweet baby girl who just turned one!
Thank you "L"

It is made with melt and pour or also called glycerin soap.  Perfect for when you don't have 4 to 6 weeks of curing time for the cold process soap making. I hope everybody who's going to receive these giveaways will love them.

These are the number 1's just out of the mold.

Made a batch with pink base and white number and vice versa.

Out of the mold.

Scented with gingered bergamot described as an exotic fragrance with citrus top notes of bergamot surrounded with nuances of freshly ground ginger combined with notes of sandalwood, cedar, Indian patchouli, and sweet basil.

January 2020 | Love Spell | KCK Soapery

I made a second batch of Valentine's Soap for a friend "S".  Plus, I want to make a successful batch using the new heart embed.  This time, I used my usual favorite recipe which includes Olive oil, Coconut oil, Palm oil, Mango butter, Shea butter, and Castor oil.

Scented with a combination of essential oil and fragrance oil described as a lavishly lush blend of orange, peach, cherry blossom, and white jasmine.

This time, I swirled the top using a skewer.

Only five bars out of eleven ended up being what I want them to look like.  Six bars have their bottom layer stuck on the mold.

January 2020 | Amber Soap | KCK Soapery

I made this batch right after the cut of the 50 Shades Valentine's soap.  This time, I used my usual recipe that never failed me and is chuck full of skin loving ingredients including Olive oil, Palm oil, Coconut oil, Shea butter, Castor oil, and Mango butter.  I also waited for it to harden more by letting the batter sit in the mold for two days before cutting.

Fragrance oil used is described as a rich amber with hints of sandalwood and cedar wood.  Colors were titanium dioxide for white and yellow, pink, and purple mica.

I used biodegradable holographic glitter for some shimmer.
