January 2018 | Lavender Chocolate | KCK Soapery

With Valentine's Day in the horizon, I thought of pairing colors and scents.

Lavender essential oil and Chocolate Lover's fragrance oil with lavender mica and brown mica for colors.

Ingredients are my usual Coconut oil, Olive oil, Rice Bran oil, Palm oil, Mango butter, and Castor oil.   Divided the soap batter for both colors with a little white leftover.  Added some colloidal oatmeal, just because I felt the need to add something more and colloidal oatmeal is good for the skin and I have some available.

Poured the brown batter and poured a little uneven layer of white leftover in the middle layer.

Dropped the lavender batter by the spoonfuls.

Textured the top with the spoon and drizzled some lavender buds on top.

Out of the mold.

Cut and ready to join you in your shower or bath.

January 2018 | Kaolin Clay Unscented Goat's Milk Soap | KCK Soapery

This is the debut of my goat's milk soap.
My very first Goat's milk soap.

Hopefully you guys will like it so I can make more of this creamy soap.  A friend asked for goat's milk soap a few months ago.  So I concocted a recipe which include goat's milk and shea butter.  This is very natural without added fragrance or color.

This recipe include the following, Coconut oil, olive oil, rice bran oil, palm oil, mango butter, shea butter and castor oil.  The container with white liquid above is the goat's milk.

I added kaolin clay at the last minute after noticing that my soap is not as white as I wanted.  Kaolin clay is natural and very beneficial to the skin while giving a white color to the soap.

Poured the batter into the mold.

Had to give it some texture.  I used spoon to lift up the sides and sprinkle them on top.

Out of the mold.

Cut and ready to give you that creamy and soothing bath or shower.

Thank you for dropping by!

January 2018 | Mermaids Lair | KCK Soapery

Happy 2018 to everyone!

Starting my 2018 soaping adventure with some enchanting creatures.  I made these mermaids tail, unicorn heads, and seashells from melt and pour soap.

I started the seashells as brown but my son said they don't look realistic.  So I randomly painted white soap over them and he is quite happy with the result.  Some of the mermaid's tails are painted on strategic areas to give that special magic touch.

Only using white and blue for this batch.  Recipe is the usual, coconut oil, olive oil, rice bran oil, palm oil, mango butter and castor oil and scented with Abalone and Sea fragrance oil.

Tilted the mold and poured blue on one side.

Added white to the remaining blue to give it a different tone of blue and poured that on the other side and topped with white.

Alternately adding blue and remaining white by the spoonfuls.

Swirled them around to create a body of water.

Saw this technique on a baking show.  Placing the two different colored batter side by side on a plastic wrap.

Rolled it up and seal one end and squeeze it into the piping bag.

I like the look of this piping.  The color distribution is more uniform.

Added the tails and the shells on one side.

Added more shells on the sides of each bar after cutting using a clear melt and pour soap to glue them to the sides.

Thank you for reading!

Hoping for an enchanting year ahead for all of us!
