January 2015 | Handmade Soap Dishes | KCK Soapery

BT soap dishes handmade by a friend and a local pottery artist.  She designed some sample soap dishes specially for KCK Soaps.  The dishes have holes which would allow water to drain off the soaps.  Simply Perfect for handmade soaps.

Please check them out and send me a message. They are now available individually or as set with the soaps. Just let me know. We can also custom design according to your desire of colors and shapes, just let us know what you prefer!

This leaf handmade soap dish in green goes perfectly with the Hidden Ivy.

This glittery blue dish is just the right one for the Heart Swirl.

Red, black and white combinations for the Chocolate Dipped Fruit.

Last but not least a golden clay for the Lemongrass Verbena.

Hope you guys like all these soap dishes and enjoy this new adventure I have with my pottery friend BT.

Thank you very much!

January 2015 | Snowflakes | KCK Soapery

Snowflakes soaps made for our local art consignment store "Artful Expressions" for the snow season.

Scented with Mistletoe and Ivy described as blends of cedar leaf, Siberian fir, English holly, holiday mistletoe, cooling camphor, trailing ivy, sandalwood, vetiver, and frosted musk.

Also made small snowflakes embedded in a tinted with blue clear soap base sprinkled with iridescent glitter.

Tried two differently tinted clear soaps.  I like the blue better, how about you?

Did the layered blue and white to these snowflakes mold.

Happy Soaping!

January 2015 | Caribbean Coconut | KCK Soapery

A friend suggested a coconut oil base soap with no colors.

This batch was made only with Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Palm Oil, Castor Oil, Shea Butter and Mango Butter.

No additional colors but with a trickle of the Caribbean Coconut fragrance oil to give off some coconut scent.  Top with a spoon swirl and cut with the wedge cutter.

Happy Soaping!

January 2015 | Hidden Ivy | KCK Soapery

First cold process soap for 2015 unmolded today.  This batch was concocted using my new favorite ingredients Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Castor Oil, Shea Butter and Mango Butter.

The design technique was inspired from Anne Marie of Bramble Berry.  Since I can't find a thicker hanger that I can easily manipulate.  I used the wire from a flower arrangement and stick a straw to make the circumference bigger.

I used woodland green, teal, brown mica and titanium dioxide for my colors.

Added more butters than my previous recipe, just to see if I can detect any difference in how the soap will behave, look and feel.

Fragranced with Mistletoe and Ivy which is described as blends of cedar leaf, Siberian fir, English holly, holiday mistletoe, cooling camphor, trailing ivy, sandalwood, vetiver, and frosted musk.

Poured the white base then the brown.

Covered the brown with another layer of white, followed by the teal which was covered and top with the green and covered again with white.

Pulled the straw wire up.

Layered the top with the leftover colors.

Swirled the top using chopstick.

Let the loaf sit for five days.  This was the longest I tried since the previous ones had been tacky when unmolded.  This came out intact but still soft enough to cut.

The delicate swirls in the middle are almost too thin in some of the bars.  The kids thought they look like little trees.

Happy Soaping!!!

January 2015 | New Year Party Favors | KCK Soapery

First melt and pour glycerine soap for the year 2015.

The puzzle pieces were all made of colored soaps and then embedded in faintly tinted clear soap sprinkled with iridescent glitter.

The batch was scented with "Mistletoe and Ivy" fragrance oil.  A favorite winter scent described as blends of cedar leaf, Siberian fir, English holly, holiday mistletoe, cooling camphor, trailing ivy, sandalwood, vetiver, and frosted musk.

Wishing that everybody who try these soaps would enjoy them.

Thank you very much for dropping by!

December 2014 | Amazing Grace | KCK Soapery

Tuesday started out great, so I decided to try a new design technique using five colors for the first time.  However, it did not happen.  The soap batter hardened faster than expected and the video ran out of battery.  I ended up having an "Abstract" design.

First time using a lot of colors, Titanium Dioxide for white, woodland green, ultramarine blue, red oxide and activated charcoal for black.

The hubby can't stop sniffing at the soap, he said it has a "subtle - cool - menthol - like scent".  This was scented with "Amazing Grace" fragrance oil which is described as a blend of Italian bergamot and sparkling lemon sweetened with freshly picked citron and neroli.  A white floral jasmine, orange blossom and rose are blended with sheer musk and cedarwood.

The batch was made using Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Castor Oil, Shea Butter and Mango Butter.

I hope you enjoy these design.

Happy Soaping!!!

December 2014 | Lavender/Peppermint | KCK Soapery

My new and improved Lavender/Peppermint artisan soap. Peppermint essential oil was added a little bit more than the previous batch for that minty feel and aroma that a friend enjoyed so much and wanted more of.

Diluted soap colorants Titanium Dioxide for white, woodland green and purple.

Ingredients include Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Shea Butter, Castor Oil and Mango Butter.  The Shea Butter is a new favorite ingredient.  It added to the silky feel of the soap and added more skin loving benefits as well.

I drop swirled the three colors, top with a thin layer of white and drizzled the rest of the batter on top.

Did the chopstick swirl using two layers of  "O"s .

Got this wacky thought of doing something a little different by adding a spoon swirl texture on one side of the soap.  How do you guys think of that?  Maybe for just this once or can I do it again.

Unmolded the batch four days later just because everybody is home for the holidays and everything including the soaps just have to wait a bit longer.  I like the look and feel of freshly unmolded soap with Shea Butter better than my previous batches.

Most likely the extra 3 days of settling in the mold made the soap less tacky.  The soap loaf came off smooth and did not have any big cracks on the ends like my previous ones.

Loving the look of these.

Happy Soaping!!!
